Regular blog writing is a great way to keep your website active and help with SEO. You’ll want each post to be authentic and purposeful. Thinking about SEO as you are putting it all together is a good strategy. Here are four quick tips for writing blog posts while keeping SEO in mind.

Create Headers

Break your content up with headers that essentially call out key content. Think about keywords that could be included, look for opportunities to coordinate.  Headers help search engine spiders during the crawling process and make the content easier to read for users.

Include Internal Links

Think about how content can link to other content already on your website in a natural way (internal site links). Internal links help search engines discover new pages on your website. They also give users an option to click a link and read more about a topic.

Pay Attention to Word Count

The typical length of a blog post should land between 300-600 words, but they can definitely run longer for various reasons. The real goal is to make your blog post better than what’s already out there. Then it will attract users and natural links to eventually outrank the existing posts.

Be Strategic about URLs and Headlines

The URLs are crucial – as are headlines. URLs and headlines should be direct with keywords in them, relevant to the content on the page, and provide an easy-to-understand indication of what the page will be about.
