As marketers, we know how valuable it is to find the right images for our digital or print needs. There are so many things to consider (e.g. aesthetics, design, points of view, etc.) and with a limited budget – it’s a challenge. The importance of finding the perfect image holds the power to completely transform a mundane website, blog, social media post or ad into a visual experience.

Fortunately, there are many resources readily available to find royalty free, quality images. Here are our top 5 places to source images in 2019.

1.Unsplash

Unsplash has become one of the best sources for stock images as it offers over 800,000 free high-resolution photos. Their constantly updating their database, adding 10 royalty-free photographs every 10 days. Easily search through ‘collections’ or through a keyword search at the top of the page. All photos are released under the Unsplash license.

2. Pixabay

Pixabay offers over one million royalty free photos, illustrations and vector graphics. With over 33,000 active image authors and the ability to search by size, color and style – it’s easy to find the perfect photo for your project. It’s top features include: selecting the image size you want; image properties including resolution, date created, date uploaded, camera type, and more parameters; and photos are tagged so you can search for other various relevant terms. All photos are released under Creative Commons Zero (CC0) license.

3. Pexels

Pexels has a over a million high-quality stock images available for personal and commercial use. The search function is simple to use and has multiple useful parameters which make it one of the easiest free stock image sites to navigate. All photos are tagged, searchable and easy to find through their discovery pages. Their library of images contains plenty of aesthetically pleasing pieces – many of which are beautiful landscape photos. Images are licensed under the CC0 license.

4. StockSnap.io

StockSnap.io has a large selection of beautiful free stock photos and high resolution images. Their content library includes an extensive bank of photos which cover most aspects of design. The site also has a handy search feature making it easy to browse through the thousands of images available. In addition, the site tracks views and downloads so you can find the most popular photos. StockSnap adds hundreds of images on a daily basis and all photos are released under creative commons public domain – no attribution required.

5.Reshot

Reshot is a large boutique library of hand selected free stock photos you won’t find elsewhere. Created for startups, freelancers and those who are tired of the classic “business handshake” stock photos. Free to use commercially and editorially and no attribution required.
